Michael Waddington


Michael Waddington is a trial consultant for Bilecki & Tipon LLLC. He is one of the most experienced court martial lawyers in the country, having tried 150+ cases over his career. Mr. Waddington specializes in military sexual assault defense, and has worked on cases as diverse as war crimes, white-collar crimes, drug trafficking and violent crimes. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army.

His experience in the legal field has made him a highly sought after figure, not just in the courtroom, but for legal documentaries and even hit television series. He has assisted research teams and given commentary on critically acclaimed shows such as 60 Minutes, ABC Nightline, CNN Investigative Reports, Katie Couric, The BBC and CBS. He was also tapped to work as a consultant for the smash hit, The Good Wife.

Mr. Waddington is no stranger to the media and the camera, and has consulted on numerous occasions for award-winning legal documentaries. He was a source behind the CNN’s 2009 hit, Killings at the Canal, as well as the 2013 documentaries The Kill Team and Taxi to the Dark Side. Mr. Waddington has also played a role in a number of bestselling books, including Redacted, Strike & Destroy, and The Good Soldier. In 2013, he wrote a chapter for the American Bar Association’s The State of Criminal Justice 2013, which was one of the most important annual works on criminal justice that year.

A graduate of Duquesne University, Mr. Waddington later received his J.D. from the prestigious Temple University School of Law. Michael Waddington is a licensed attorney and a member of good standing in the State Bar Associations of Pennsylvania, Georgia, New Jersey, South Carolina and in all military courts.
